PCFSC: #35; Ticker Tape Parade

You would NOT believe the amount of new words and events that I have learn during the Purple Crumpet Spring Challenge. This was another thing that I had absolutely no clue on - I am so glad that we have google in our modern world.

I would really love to be in one of these parades one day, they look so fun!

PCFSC: #4; Spring Water Marble

Ahh... The dreaded Water Marbling... One day I shall master you enough to clearly show where I made pattern using the tooth pick but until then, this is all I have to show. One day.

So... I think it didn't turn out very spring-ish so I added Fairy Dust on top to create subtle shimmer but it didn't make it any better!

Day Twenty-Six: Inspired by a Pattern

Today's challenge is quite vague - I had no idea what I wanted to do since there is a lot of "Patterns" in the world since patterns just means anything that repeats and/or occur frequently. I decided to do my "google, close my eyes and point to one" option. When I opened my eyes, I saw a very cute floral pattern that belonged to a website design help site with a list of free seamless backgrounds.

Isn't that just cute and prefect for spring? (Even though it's going to be fall here soon, haha).
Here's my attempt on this floral pattern!

Day Twenty-One: Inspired by a Colour

Wasn't too sure what today's challenge meant but according to other blogs, it seem to be an inspiration on a polish's name. To be honest, it was hard figuring out which I wanted to do because they all had "non object" names such as Royal Blue or puns such as No Spain, No Gain. So when I purchased some Ulta3 polishes from a local pharmacy, I saw that one was them was named Watermelon. I knew that was the one I wanted to do and I've been wanting to do a watermelon inspired manicure since summer started... a month ago.

Yay, Happy Summer!

Day Twenty: Water Marbled Nails

This was the challenge that I dreaded the most out of all of them because it's really messy and wastes a lot of polish.... and did I say messy? I've tried it out in the past but it didn't turn out so good and clean up was just horrendous. I have to say this time was a lot easier but that's probably due to the fact that I'm now used to painting my nails almost daily, hahaa.

First I tried to do a rainbow one, Yes.... I really love colour, but the water I used made it difficult to make patterns in the water before it started to stick to the toothpick. I decided that 14 colours was way too much for me to handle so I closed my eyes and reached into my bag to pull out 5 colouring pencils, luckily they didn't contrast too much with each other! Unfortunately, it was still way too hard to make any sort of pattern in the polish in the cup of water so it didn't turn out too interesting... but I still really like it :)

Swatch - athon: Zoya; Matte Velvet Collection [ 4 ]

As I have mentioned in this post, Zoya is really only easily accessible in the states so when the e-store Nailde Royale popped up, I jumped straight on and purchased a rather large haul.

That was a week before I found out that Zoya was planning to discontinue all polishes which did not already have a spoon. These Matte Velvets ended up being a part of the haul for that reason... actually I ordered 5 but my package ended up in Thailand on holiday for a whole 2 months before arriving here and by then the 5th one, Harlow, which they no longer stock was shattered and dried.

For those who don't know, and I didn't know this until about a few months ago, but the finish "Velvet Matte" is also more commonly known as "Suede" and is described as a polish that has loads of shimmer in it but in the form of matte. Honestly, if I haven't had found out.. I would have just called it plain matte without knowing the difference! Anyways, here are the swatches.

Swatch - athon: Zoya; Sunshine Collection

As far as I know, Zoya is only easily accessible in the states so all those lemmings I had for Zoya were very far out of my reach. There were just so many I wanted to try and just watching all the american bloggers around me with those polishes... had made me.. well.. very jealous. A few months ago, I was contacted by a new e-store called Nailde Royale who wanted me to place their ad on my blog and review products for them HOWEVER being a person with low self-confident especially with her work, I rejected their offer... errr, not a first.. hahaha.

Still intrigued, I secretly browsed through their website and found that they sold many brands that were not available internationally.... the biggest one that caught my eye was Zoya. This was the first international e-store that stocked Zoya. They sold past collections with some that have been discontinued and the best part was... the prices weren't skyrocketed, in fact, some were cheaper than what Zoya themselves sold them as! I couldn't help myself but even though I didn't trust their e-store considering how new they looked, I still ended up purchased the Sunshine Collection and of course the Mattes from last season... which were going to be discontinued during Zoya's cleanup at the time.

They came. Harlow broke in the process.. it was painful because when I did get my order, this particular collection had been discontinued and then sold out on Nailde Royale too. I didn't actually say anything about it because it would have caused too much trouble to send me one new polish. It took almost 2 months because my parcel got lost in Thailand for about a few weeks but Nailde Royale had earned my trust and loyality :)
